Every MCU Romance Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Bruce Banner & Betty Ross
The Incredible Hulk may not be the MCU's most memorable offering, but it does deserve credit for producing a highly-engaging romance between Bruce Banner and Betty Ross - a feat that so many of the universe's better films were simply incapable of accomplishing.
The fact that the latter's father served as one of the film's primary antagonists (and would stop at nothing to destroy the Hulk) certainly gave the relationship stakes, but the real reason it stood out was because of just how natural it all felt. Perhaps it had to do with Bruce and Betty's well-documented history or just how well Edward Norton and Liv Tyler connected on screen, but whatever the reason, they absolutely nailed the tone of this romance.
Two old souls reunited after a long time apart, their unique relationship was so authentically gentle that it quickly became the heart of the film. It wasn't just thrown in for the sake of it and wasn't a desperate bid to tick boxes, it was essential to the actual story as Betty could use her history with Bruce (and his feelings towards her) to calm his greener other-half - making their tender scenes together a joy to watch.
