Every MCU Romance Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Peter Quill & Gamora
Let's be clear here, when Peter Quill first crossed paths with Gamora, there was absolutely no love lost between them. One was a Ravager that was completely out for himself while the other was a trained assassin and the adopted daughter of the deadliest being in the universe, so when they both clashed over their desire for the same object, they were willing to kill each other to get it.
An interesting starting point, no doubt, but it set the stage for quite the character development on both of their parts which, as they became closer, highlighted how alike they actually were.
Falling slowly in love, the pair would continue to bicker and argue with each other (while also making time to slay some bad guys and dance to classic '80s tunes) before they finally admitted their feelings in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.
With a compelling narrative and tangible chemistry, it was hard not to root for the unlikely couple and, what made their budding love all the more heartwarming was how it managed to remain genuine and subtle across two loud and boisterous films.
Peter and Gamora came into each other's lives at a time when neither of them felt worthy of love, but it was that love that ultimately made them better people. And it looks like Peter is going to have to help Gamora do it all over again in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame.
Based on their first romance, that will undoubtedly be a treat.
