Every MCU Villain Plot Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Total Universal Anihilation - Thanos (Avengers: Endgame)
Aside from the movie's opening scenes, the Thanos that we see in Endgame is different to that of Infinity War, and with a different plan. The Mad Titan from 2014 wasn't pursuing the stones with the same speed as 2018 Thanos, as had not yet given up on the likes of Loki and Ronan to assemble them for him.
Instead, the opportunity to have all six essentially delivered to him by the Avengers was dropped into his lap, all he had to do was travel to the year 2023 to get them. After seeing his ultimate fate at the hands of Thor, and that even after destroying the stones his future would not be safe, he decided to destroy the entire universe's population, rather than just half.
Whereas his original plan revolved around balance and fairness, Endgame Thanos became angry and was reduced to destroying the entire universe. This plan never really got off the ground for the Mad Titan however, thanks to the return of the entire heroic side of the MCU, and Tony Stark's sleight of hand.
If 2014 Thanos would have just stayed where he was, and continued his plan instead of rushing to 2023 and creating a new timeline, he could have collected the stones himself and still snapped everyone away in Wakanda as soon as he plucked the mind stone from Vision's head.
