Every MCU Villain Plot Ranked From Worst To Best

22. The Total Destruction Of His Enemies - Ronan (Guardians Of The Galaxy)

MCU Villains
Marvel Studios

The MCU's second team were introduced in phase two, and gave us more information about Thanos and the infinity stones than ever before. While The Mad Titan was ultimately behind the plot to take the power stone, it was Ronan that acted upon it.

As a Kree radical, Ronan hated Xandar and the planet's entire culture. In exchange for delivering the Orb to Thanos, the Accuser was promised the destruction of his enemies. It was only half way through that the Kree realised with the Orb in his possession, he would have no further need of Thanos.

There was little more to the villain than a largely unexplained xenophobic feeling towards Xandar, however he did provide Drax's motive for teaming up with Quill and company. The villain murdered the Destroyer's family, forcing him to join the Guardians in an effort to see justice done.

Ronan's weakness was retrospectively shown at the beginning of Infinity War, when Thanos obtained the Orb off screen, with seemingly little trouble. There really was no need for the Accuser to be sent after the Guardians at all.
