Every Mitchell And Webb Film And TV Project Ranked From Worst To Best
21. Greed
Greed proved to be a disappointing project led by Steve Coogan, the creative force behind some of the best British comedy of the last 30 years. The film is a thinly-veiled satire of Sir Phillip Green, a British businessman who has seemingly gotten incredibly rich through taking over failing historic businesses, extracting as much money as quickly as possible, and then sacking everyone and claiming there isn’t money to cover their pensions. Allegedly.
David Mitchell joined a varied cast ranging from acclaimed actress Isla Fisher to Made In Chelsea jester Ollie Locke. The film also includes a number of cameo performances with Ben Stiller, Keira Knightley and Coldplay’s Chris Martin all playing themselves. Mitchell portrays Nick Morris, ghostwriter for Coogan’s lead’s memoirs, and central hub to a story that jumps around in time based on discussions between the two.
The 2019 film was met with poor reviews from critics, and the general viewing public said the reviews were too generous.
