Every Mitchell And Webb Film And TV Project Ranked From Worst To Best

20. Blunder

David Mitchell stood out as a rare highlight in the very mixed bag that was Channel 4’s late night comedy sketch show, Blunder. The 2006 show also featured talented comedic ventriloquist Nina Conti, and Simon Farnaby of Horrible Histories fame.

Mitchell appeared as three main characters; Colonel Rudd, a maverick vet who uses his questionable practices on humans, Edgar Ford, and elderly man apparently on the verge of death, and Nigel Livid, the typical apoplectic armchair critic, angered by the output of contemporary television.

The series was discontinued after 6 episodes, in which time the public had already grown tired of a lot of unoriginal and repetitive sketches, with Tom “The Baron” Meeten drawing particular ire from viewers. The show would prove to be a useful stepping stone for all participants, with even Meeten going onto contribute to smash hits like Skins and The IT Crowd, along with the criminally under-discussed Motherland.
