I Could Never Be Your Woman is an eminently forgettable mid-2000s romcom staring Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd. Another solo gig for David Mitchell, there is also some early film work for future Oscar winner Olivia Colman, a debut big screen role for Saoirse Ronan, as well as an appearance from chat show host Graham Norton.

Mitchell has a cameo role in one of the funnier moments in the movie, identified as a potential lookalike for US comedian Jon Lovitz’s character. The film as a whole is the story of a flourishing age gap romance between Rudd and Pfeiffer’s characters, who work together as actor and producer on a TV show respectively.

Following a commercially disappointing limited cinema run in 2007 in certain countries, the film went straight to DVD in most major markets in 2008, including the UK and USA. With limited exposure in theatres and the film now buried deep in Amazon’s catalogue, you may be hard pushed to find anybody who has actually seen this picture.
