Every Mitchell And Webb Film And TV Project Ranked From Worst To Best

17. Bruiser

Although a common theme in the lower reaches of this list, Bruiser is the best example of an inexplicably poor product from highly talented writers and actors. In the lowest ranking collaboration between the two, the pair were the primary writers, with further contributions from Ricky Gervais and Richard Ayoade, amongst others.

Mitchell and Webb would be the main actors in the 2000 BBC sketch show series, but would also be joined in prominent roles by Martin Freeman, star of the Hobbit trilogy, and regular collaborator Olivia Colman.

Given the rise to prominence of many of the people involved, the series has achieved something of a cult status in recent years. However, this is largely due to the curiosity of seeing a star-studded cast find their feet, rather than the quality of the sketches themselves. The series would not be renewed after a 6 episode run that largely flew under the radar at the time.
