Finally, we have traversed past the terrible movies, made our way through the average ones, and are finally arriving at the point where the the non-MCU movies can be considered genuinely good movies.
Punisher: War Zone is one of the undiscovered gems of Marvel movies, and the best Punisher movie by a long shot. In terms of character and story, it is pure over-the-top silliness, especially with Dominic West's scenery-chewing villain, Jigsaw. Pair that with insane ultraviolence and an 18s certificate, and you've got a mad combination that somehow works.
If the MCU are ready to take real risks, they should definitely consider giving director Lexi Alexander another movie.
