Every Non-MCU Marvel Movie RANKED From Worst To Best

15. X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Marvel Movies
20th Century Fox

What is this? A crossover episode?

"Fan service" is a bit of a dirty word in the comic book community, but Days of Future Past is a great example of how to do it right. Fans responded very enthusiastically to First Class, but still missed the old squad from the original films. If only there was a way they could have their cake and Ian McKellen too...

Enter time travel.

Not only did this allow for James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart to share the screen as duelling Professor Xs, it provided a great cover story for the X-Men's notoriously awful continuity errors. On the not-so-bright side, it also gave the filmmakers a chance to mess up the Dark Phoenix saga all over again, which is honestly unforgivable.
