Deadpool is a character built entirely on irreverence, so the decision to go all in on heartfelt sentimentality for his big sequel was quite the risk. Thankfully, it's a risk that pays off.
Like the first one, DP2 is a bit too sure of itself and not quite as funny as it thinks. It's still one of the funniest films on this list, thanks in large part to Josh Brolin's Cable and Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Their collective disapproval of Wade Wilson's antics is often even more hilarious than the antics themselves.
A hugely satisfying time travel sequence at the very end marks this as essential viewing.
