Every Pixar Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

24. Lightyear

Pixar

Pixar's latest is also perhaps their most disappointing, for while moderately entertaining throughout, Lightyear categorically fails to live up to the promise of a Toy Story spin-off centered around the film that inspired Andy's love of Buzz Lightyear.

Lightyear is beautifully animated and Chris Evans slots quite perfectly into the role of Buzz, but the script borrows too liberally from classic sci-fi without offering enough of its own take on the genre.

The result is a by-the-numbers sci-fi adventure romp that doesn't make all that much of a dent, even if it's certainly far from a bad film by any stretch.

It's fun enough while you're watching it but leaves very little of a lasting impression, which is pretty depressing to say about any Pixar movie, let alone one inspired by their flagship IP.
