Every Pixar Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

18. Luca

Up Carl Ellie
Pixar

The recent Luca may not be a classic entry into Pixar's canon, but it does feel like something a little different, what with its low-key vibe and mesmerising, beautifully rendered setting on the Italian Riviera.

Prefacing characters over story more than perhaps any other Pixar film, Luca offers up a delightful central bromance between Luca (Jacob Tremblay) and Alberto (Jack Dylan Grazer) even if it doesn't quite hit a home run in a grander emotional sense.

But not every movie Pixar makes needs to be a deep-dive into the mechanics of the human condition: Luca is a sweet, cute story well-told and buoyed by eye-wateringly colourful animation inspired by, among others, the works of the great Hayao Miyazaki.
