Every Pixar Movie Ranked Worst To Best
14. Soul (2020)
Pixar's most recent film is an emotional, existential film about a jazz musician whose soul gets sent to the Great Beyond, and then sets him up for an adventure in which he attempts to right his wrongs and get a second chance at life.
If that sounds like a particularly heavy addition to the Pixar fold, Soul continuously surprises with a goofy sense of humour and shifting themes that allow for some solid laughs amongst the plot's more dramatic beats.
There are some issues, namely the occasionally infuriating tonal inconsistencies and a sense that the film doesn't fully know what it really wants to be, but as a whole Soul is a moving and silly portrait of one man's visually sublime journey of self-realisation, and will probably go down as a studio classic in the years to come.
