Every Pixar Movie Ranked Worst To Best
20. The Good Dinosaur
If you're looking for positives for The Good Dinosaur - which is a vastly better movie than Cars 2, by the way - it's arguably the most stunning of all of them in terms of environments. Because it's set closer to nature than any other later Pixars, the landscapes are sweeping and beautiful and the effects behind them are simply incredible.
It's just with the story and the film's substance that it begins to fall down. The story isn't terrible by any means, and it has some of Pixar's usual emotional pillars in there - death, identity, finding ourselves - but it's just not very substantial. Sure, there are tear-jerking moments, but once again it's mostly just forgettable.
This could well be because Pixar had to drop their initial story and reset partway through production, of course, but it's difficult to accept excuses. Particularly when their replacement story feels so familiar.
