Every Pixar Movie Ranked Worst To Best
1. Inside Out
Usually, Pixar films aim to be narrative first and foremost and then emotionally affecting as a secondary issue. With Inside Out, there was no separating the two agendas and with stunning results.
The delightful film is one based on another of those huge What If quandries: this time it's the invitation to imagine that your brain was run by little people who bled their emotions into your actions. It's essentially a tale of how puberty is a battlefield of your emotions vying for dominance and in there we get heartbreaking reflections on growing up, the loss of innocence and death all rolled into one.
It might not be wholly original, but once more it's a tale of Pixar repurposing an idea and adding their wonderful eye for characters and environments to make a gripping story with surprising levels of intellect. And if you can get through the Bing Bong sequence without re-evaluating your entire emotional make-up, you're a better person than me.
