Every Pokemon Movie Ranked Worst To Best

9. The Power Of Us

Following on from I Choose You! and its break from the norm, The Power of Us became the first Pokemon anime film to land a positive score at Rotten Tomatoes, and with good reason. Freed from the initial building blocks of retracing key steps like its predecessor, it feels free to dance to its own beat to surprisingly enjoyable effect.

With Ash at the helm of a wider ensemble movie that mostly takes the time to pay suitable lip-service to its characters, it still brought the big Pokemon guns out - new Mythical beast Zeraora and old favourite Lugia - but treats them more as a catalyst for something different rather than the central focus. It's the best of the new films and gives hope that follow-up Coco, coming this year, will keep up the gradual improvements.

Something of a culture vulture, Mr Steel can historically be found in three places; the local cinema, the local stadium or the local chip shop. He is an avowed fan of franchise films, amateur cricket and power-chords.
