Every Pokemon Movie Ranked Worst To Best

Technically the same movie with minor cosmetic and character differences - not too dissimilar to the concept of Pokemon's paired game versions upon release - the first films of the Black and White era are not its lowest entry but they represented something of a comedown nonetheless - and arguably signaled the start of the franchise's most humdrum streak.

Both share broadly the same plot, with Ash and company involved in some more earth-threatening shenanigans, involving an energy source known as the Dragon Force. The film has some particularly serious stabs for emotional weight that land with the suitable thud of a wet pancake, which is saying something given the series' knack for such ham-fisted misfiring sentiment elsewhere.
