What does it mean to be human? That is the question that drives Ridley Scott's greatest film, Blade Runner.

Initially released to confused and mixed reviews, the sci-fi classic has only grown more popular and affecting as time has gone on, and Rick Deckard's (Harrison Ford) journey to hunt down Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) and his fellow replicants has only grown more thrilling and complex.

Between the perfect vision of the delipidated futuristic world the characters inhabit to Hauer's haunting monologue in the final act, Blade Runner manages to maintain its sci-fi thriller credentials whilst also crafting a deeply philosophical story about humanism and morality.

Entrancing, moving and beautifully slow-burning and gritty, Blade Runner solidified Ridley Scott as one of his generation's best filmmakers, and today it remains his greatest movie.
