Every Saw Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

8. Saw V

Saw V Strahm
Lionsgate

Rightly regarded by most fans as "the boring one", Saw V largely functions as "previously on Saw", extensively detailing new apprentice Detective Hoffman's relationship with Jigsaw, while setting up the hilariously obvious reveal that he would be framing Agent Strahm at the end of the film.

The marketing boldly claimed, "You won't believe how it ends", and they were right in a sense. Following four movies that served up an increasingly daft array of plot twists, Saw V opted out of trying to one-up the previous films: the twist, hilariously enough, was that there was no twist at all.

Tobin Bell gives a solid performance as usual, and Strahm's climactic demise was hilarious as Hoffman retreated into the floor, Bond villain-style, but overall the series has never been more underwhelming.
