7. Jigsaw
Though many fans hoped that the belated "rebootquel" to the Saw franchise might inject new life into the series, it was ultimately a surprisingly tame, often shockingly dull retread that brought painfully little fresh to the table.
The traps lacked the ingenuity of earlier movies, there was a surprising lack of gore, and the two major plot twists were more eye-rollers than jaw-droppers.
At least it's by far the best-shot of the eight Saw films, but it's hard to be at all hyped for the ninth movie off the back of this. It's a cynical rehash that lazily attempts to restart the series for a broader audience who turn their nose up at torture porn, while just barely appealing to loyal fans of the original movies.
