5. Saw - The Reverse Bear Trap
Trap: Amanda Young, a drug addict, wakes up with a device that will rip her jaws open if it is not removed from her head in time. She has to cut her unconscious cell-mate (Oren Koule) open, find the key in his stomach and unlock the device within 60 seconds, which she manages to do, making her the first survivor of any of Jigsaw's games.
The most iconic trap in the franchise's history is still a brilliant scene to this day.
It's hurt a little by the way the scene keeps cutting back to a police interview Amanda Young is doing and it would've been nice to have more explanation about who the cell-mate was, but this is still a superbly-directed and ferociously intense scene that has lost none of its power with age.
Perhaps the most impressive thing of all is that, even though this is a flashback and viewers therefore know Amanda survived, it's still makes for absolutely nerve-shredding viewing.
