Every Saw Trap Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Saw II - Venus Flytrap

Trap: If Michael (Noam Jenkins) doesn't unlock the device he's wearing in time, a nail-covered mask with close on his head and kill him. The key to the device is hidden behind Michael's eye and in order to survive, he'll have to cut his own eye out. Unfortunately, he can't bring himself to do this and he is killed by the trap.

This one was similar to the Reverse Beartrap from the first film... and it's even tenser, even nastier and even better than that trap.

The trap makes for a grisly, horrific and murderously suspenseful opening that kicks Saw II off with a bang, while the gruesome thing Michael would've had to do to survive allows this to still, all these years later, rank among the most disturbing Saw traps.

All in all, thanks to Darren Lynn Bousman's sharp direction and this incredible trap, Saw II has the franchise's greatest opening scene.
