Every Single MCU Film Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Captain America: Civil War
Let's be real, Captain America: Civil War is nothing like the comic book, aside from in a very spiritual way. Both story arcs deal with superhero registration and control, and both have two teams of superheroes fighting each other. But that's all there was to it - a framework that the Russos took and built something else entirely on.
In fact, the whole decision to use the Civil War title and story elements was no more than a remarkably clever step in the misdirection that turned a global scale exploration of huge ideas and ramifications into one broken man's act of vengeance. And it was that smaller scale personal twist that really succeeded more than anything else.
In the end, the things that mattered most were small relationships rather than huge ideological differences: Tony's to his parents, Cap's to Bucky, Zemo's to his dead family. And while all the spectacle and the amazing set pieces played into the overall success of the film brilliantly, it's ultimately that narrative deception that lasts. And it's that depth that makes Civil War the most rewatchable MCU movie released so far (hence it's jump up in the charts since its year of release).
