Every Single X-Men Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
3. Deadpool 2
After Tim Miller left the franchise, Deadpool 2 could have failed badly, but it seems that his departure meant Ryan Reynolds was able to take on even more of a pivotal creative role on the sequel and that paid off massively.
We could have seen the sequel doubling down on what had worked in the first movie and still skimping on the supporting details, characters and the story, but they didn't do that. Fundamentally, the sequel works because it is the perfect escalation, with great new characters, better gags, a better script and a progression for the central character that adds complexity.
It's hysterically funny, very surprising (including some amazing cameos) and it balances the outrageousness with some real heartfelt moments that work so well you'll genuinely have to fight tears. And all of this in the same movie as the baby legs gag sequence.
