Every Single X-Men Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
2. X2
X2's central story is concerned with "who watches the Watchmen" and it was the first movie to do that in a packed marketplace. The story is great, with Wolverine seeking to uncover his past and finding out the excellent Brian Cox's Stryker continues his nefarious plans against mutants into his present.
This was Jackman really blossoming into Wolverine. He'd been cast as a late replacement for the first movie, but here he was given a full preparation schedule, meaning he looks more trimmed and toned and there's more substance to how haunted he is by his past. It's a shame that Rogue is sidelined a little, but the addition of Nightcrawler more than made up for that.
There's genuinely very little wrong with the film at all, but it's hard not to look to Halle Berry's Storm again as dead weight. She as an actor and the character both deserved more.
