Every Spider-Man Movie Ranked Worst To Best

5. Captain America: Civil War (2016)

The production story of how Spider-Man came to the MCU and how he almost didn't even appear in Captain America: Civil War arguably makes how successful the movie became all the more impressive.

Sure, the film is far from a true reflection of the seminal comic book arc bearing (almost) the same name, but it is still an incredible cinematic achievement. And had it not worked, we probably wouldn't have got an Infinity War (and an Endgame) at quite the same scale as we did.

And in a packed crowd, Spider-Man's debut stands out as one of the most successful individual elements. He's like a breath of fresh air and you can see why Marvel Studios were so adamant that they needed him in.

Plus, in casting Tom Holland, they struck absolute gold: he's cocky but disarmingly charismatic in just the right amounts, and hearing him quip his way around the battlefield while still very much a fledgling hero made it feel like he was... finally... the real deal.
