10. Spider-Man 3 (2007)

In typically unfair fashion, Spider-Man 3 will now always be remembered for the behind-the-scenes turmoil that saw creative control wrestled from Sam Raimi by a studio keen to give fans a little too much of what they wanted.

Famously Sony's vision for the movie included Venom and Raimi's didn't and unfortunately for Raimi and for the audience, the studio's will prevailed. The result is far from the awful level of some other notorious comic book movies and it wasn't even as much of a disaster financially as some would have you believe.

The threequel is mostly just an exercise in excess and it's very obvious how little interest Raimi has in adhering to the vision forced upon him. Had he been able to make the film he wanted, it would probably have been a lot better and we wouldn't all just have the enduring image of emo Peter Parker "dancing" down the street.
