Every Spider-Man Movie Ranked Worst To Best

9. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

The Amazing Spider Man
Sony Pictures

In place of the Spider-Man 4 that was initially planned with Sam Raimi still in the director's seat, Sony went with the plan to reboot the property in double-quick time as soon as he admitted he couldn't deliver a sequel in time.

The film that resulted isn't wholly terrible, but the needlessness of the reboot shows and there's just not enough justification in here for it existing at all.

Sure, Andrew Garfield's more edgy performance is a nice swerve, seeing Lizard on the big screen was a great touch and Emma Stone is actually a better female lead than Kirsten Dunst, but the final film is not greater than the sum of its parts. It's just a little dull.
