4. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, director Jon Watts took everything that worked so well about Spider-Man: Homecoming, amplified it and dropped it in the middle of Europe.

Building on what Homecoming did so brilliantly, this sequel nicely put the budding romance between Peter and MJ front-and-centre, with Michelle eventually spilling the beans that she knew Parker and Spider-Man were one and the same.

While those moments hit one emotional chord, an entirely different emotional chord was hit by the looming large shadow of the fallen Tony Stark. For Peter Parker, he was in mourning and in desperate need of a father figure - which infamously saw him exploited by the smarts of Jake Gyllenhaal's Quintin Beck.

The action of Far From Home was majestic, with the tricks of Mysterio offering up some spectacular visuals... all before it was revealed post-credits that Beck had set Peter up for the ultimate fall, as Spider-Man's secret identity was blurted out to the entire world by J. Jonah Jameson.
