6. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Having impressively debuted in Captain America: Civil War, hope was high that Tom Holland would bring plenty to the table when his Spider-Man was handed his own solo outing in 2017.

To the credit of all involved, Spider-Man: Homecoming absolutely knocked it out of the park.

This was a picture that perfectly encapsulated the traits that have made Peter Parker arguably the most popular - and certainly most relatable - mainstream comic book figure of the past several decades. While the infamous 'Parker Luck' was at play as Peter had the odds stacked against him from all angles, Holland's Spider-Man particularly shone in how much heart the character brought to the screen.

With his Midtown High setting nicely fleshed out around him with supporting players whose names ringed true with long-time fans, this incarnation of ol' Web-head had a brilliant menace to butt heads with. That menace, of course, was Michael Keaton in deliciously devilish mood as Adrian Toomes, aka the Vulture.

Jon Watts' struck a home run with his vibrant, energetic and charming Spider-Man: Homecoming, perfectly setting the tone for what was to come from Tom Holland's Web-slinger. With Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man guiding him in, this was the perfect proper introduction to this new iteration of Spidey.
