Every Spider-Man Movie Villain Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Harry Osborn (Spider-Man 3)
Succeeding his father on the Green Goblin's glider was always Harry Osborn's destiny in the original Spider-Man trilogy, and with two films' worth of patient groundwork behind it, it's difficult to fault the way his ascension was handled.
His relationship with Peter Parker is well fleshed out by the time the pair comes to blows in the third movie, and their rivalry paves the way for some memorable moments, from the that pumpkin bomb exploding in Harry's face, to the four-way battle involving Venom and Sandman.
Yet Spider-Man 3 also does James Franco’s character a disservice or two. His amnesia kicking in an out seems like a convenient plot device and his redemption would have been all the more meaningful had he rushed into battle to aid Peter of his own accord, rather than as a result of a pep talk... from his butler, no less.
Nevertheless, Harry's story arc is largely satisfactory since it plays out across three movies, giving Sam Raimi time and space to explore his friendship with Peter, his motivation for turning against him and his eventual redemption.
