20. Thor (2011)

Lee shows up in Thor's debut as an old guy at the New Mexico site where the Asgardian's trusty hammer Mjolnir has landed.

He's attempting to use his pickup truck to rip Mjolnir out of the ground, but predictably, it simply tears the bed off the back of his truck.

Lee's aloof old coot then turns around and asks his pals, "Did it work?" It's pretty simple stuff, but the irony of Thor's own creator not being worthy of Mjolnir is just delicious, and the fact he plays a hick credited as "Stan the Man" is the icing on the cake.

19. Daredevil (2003)

Daredevil is not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination - well, unless you watch the Director's Cut - but it does boast a cracking Lee cameo, with him appearing as a man who, for some reason, attempts to cross the road while reading a newspaper.

However, a young Matt Murdock is on hand to stop him, tapping him with his cane and effectively saving his creator's life. As Matt subsequently crosses the street, Lee looks on in confusion at what just happened.

As a tip of the hat to Murdock's tragic origin story while giving Lee a direct interaction with one of his most iconic characters, it's one of the movie's best crowd-pleasing moments (which, sadly, are in desperately short supply otherwise).
