Every Stan Lee Cameo Ranked From Worst To Best
18. Venom (2018)
Stan Lee's Venom cameo was a tad surprising, if only because he didn't create the character and the movie was the first entry into Sony's dubious Marvel Universe.
Still, Lee appears for a brief beat at the very end of the movie as an old man walking his dog, who tells Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) not to give up on Anne Weying (Michelle Williams). Meanwhile, Venom asks Eddie, "Who was that guy?" and notes that his dog looks delicious.
Venom may not be a good movie, but this was a neat and surprisingly involved cameo considering Lee's noted health issues in his final year.
It's also great to see him actually sharing the screen with Hardy, and it's clear the two actually shot the exchange together rather than it being achieved with digital trickery.
17. Ant-Man (2015)
Lee's cameo in Ant-Man may last for all of about two seconds, but it's cleverly integrated into the movie's best recurring gag: Luis' (Michael Pena) shaggy dog montage sequences.
At the end of the movie, Luis is telling his final story (answers on a postcard if you can remember what it is), which features a brief aside in a bar, where Lee appears as a bartender mouthing the words "Yeah, crazy stupid fine" over Luis' narration.
It's certainly one of the more unique Lee cameos, and all the more impressive considering the technical challenges involved with looping the dialogue and ensuring Lee's take matches up.
One can't imagine director Peyton Reed had a 92-year-old Lee endlessly perform the scene until his lips matched the pre-recorded line.
