Every Star Wars Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

5. Rogue One (2016)

Gareth Edwards' franchise spin-off may not exactly set the world alight with its well-developed characters, but it nevertheless delivers a satisfying prelude to A New Hope packed with gorgeous visuals, entertaining action and a winning barrage of humour, balanced with some of the grimmest moments in the entire series.

Best Moment: Darth Vader absolutely ruining a fleet of rebel soldiers at the tail-end of the movie, straight-up slaughtering them with his lightsaber, using the Force to choke and hurl them around, before presumably capturing Princess Leia.

Worst Moment: CGI Grand Moff Tarkin was just too distracting to work as intended. There were a lot of cheesy moments in the film, but none of them were as aggressively dissonant as this not-quite-good-enough attempt to bring Peter Cushing back from the dead.
