Every Star Wars Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)

Star Wars Rogue One

While there are a lot of just complaints about The Force Awakens overtly "homaging" prior Star Wars movies, it is an absolutely rock solid return to form for the franchise all the same, driven forward by J.J. Abrams' strong direction, a new cast of heroes and a warmly nostalgic tone.

Yes, it often feels like a stealthy reboot of the series, but it does away with almost all of the prequel trilogy's flaws, while hewing much closer to the space opera tone of the original trilogy.

Best Moment: Han Solo's death at the hands of his son, Kylo Ren. A truly shocking, heart-breaking and epoch-making moment for the franchise.

Worst Moment: That Godawful helicopter shot of Luke Skywalker and Rey on which the movie ends. That was the best they had?
