Every Star Wars Movie Villain Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Darth Maul
Again, Maul didn’t get a lot to do in the movies, but he made the most of it. Whether you love or hate The Phantom Menace – and fan opinion appears to lean heavily towards one option – you have to admit that climatic lightsaber duel was super sweet.
The double lightsaber, the swelling John Williams music and the breathless choreography combine to make it one of the best action scenes of the series, and Darth Maul is the kind of villain bad enough to take down Liam Neeson. You have to give him credit for that much.
That said, he did let himself get taken down by a rookie who was trapped in a near hopeless position, so he loses a few marks on that front.
