You can’t even mention poor Greedo’s name anymore without sending hardcore fans into fits of frothing rage. It’s not even his fault; it’s George Lucas and his damn digital tinkering.

Greedo’s one scene in A New Hope finds him about to turn Han Solo over to Jabba for a bounty; some heated words are exchanged, and Han blasts him under the table. This sets up Han as an outlaw lacking traditional morals, but years later Lucas felt this was the wrong move. The solution in the Special Editions was to have Greedo – an experienced bounty hunter – firing first and missing, despite being about two inches away.

It’s a laughable scene, which both undermines Han’s arc and makes Greedo one of the most incompetent villains in the universe.
