13. Orson Krennic
The casting of the awesome-tastic Ben Mendelsohn made it seem like Krennic could become an all-timer villain; unfortunately, he’s fairly routine. Krennic is the ambitious, power-hungry douchebag in charge of building the Death Star, and is naturally eager to claim credit for it.
He butts heads with Tarkin and Vader during the story, and his ego ultimately proves to be the thing that dooms him. Despite Mendelsohn’s delightfully weaselly turn Krennic never truly feels like a major threat to the rebels, and he’s ultimately bested by a wounded rebel who pistol whips him from behind.
He naturally gets credit for spearheading the Death Star, but he’s ultimately a really evil office manager.
