Every Stephen King Movie Ranked Worst To Best
33. Thinner (1996)
The problem with Thinner, based on the final novel King wrote under his Richard Bachman pseudonym (because everyone figured out, duh, that Bachman had been King all along), is that it's all surface, no meaning.
Whilst the novel was both gross and thematically challenging, taking aim at greed and capitalism and sin, director Thomas Holland took King's story of an arrogant, overweight lawyer cursed by a gypsy to lose weight until he disappears and just made it gross. It's perfectly fine as a throwaway body horror, but that's about all.
