Every Stephen King Movie Ranked Worst To Best
16. Cujo (1983)
Cujo is a Stephen King adaptation so imbedded in our pop culture subconscious that it can be easy to forget just how powerful it really is.
As terrifying as Rachel makes it out to be on Friends, Cujo follows a beloved family dog that catches rabies from a bat and goes on a killer rampage, trapping a mother and her young son in a car. The image of a doomed and merciless Saint Bernard is grim enough, but the mother/son drama of it all elevates the horror to a new, more emotional level.
Grounded by a compelling Dee Wallace performance, Cujo is claustrophobic and tragic, and though some of it lunges into the outlandish, it's a troubling horror show that still rattles with tension.
