Every Stephen King Movie Ranked Worst To Best

17. Creepshow (1982)

Stephen King Movies Ranked
Warner Bros

The first chapter in an entertaining partnership between King and horror maestro George A. Romero is easily their best, an anthology that throws caution to the wind and, whilst not always hitting a bullseye, bringing plenty of macabre joy to the screen.

Creepshow is a film of inconsistency, but even the worst of its tales - the dim-witted "Father's Day" - has its horrific surprises, fusing the imagination of King with frightening imagery as only Romero could conjure. The best of them, from "The Crate" to the Ted Danson-starring "Something to Tide You Over," could have worked as standalone movies in their own right.

Twisted and full of marvellous visuals, Creepshow seesaws from transcendent to thoughtless, but is never less than a horribly good time.
