Every Steven Spielberg Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

12. Catch Me If You Can (2002)

Spielberg's sole collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio to date is everything you'd want it to be, a frothy crime caper that slowly reveals a far darker and more brooding core.

It is for the most part the snazzy romp you'd hope for, with DiCaprio, Tom Hanks and and Christopher Walken turning in typically excellent work, complete with a riotous John Williams score which really should've beaten Elliot Goldenthal's Frida score for the Oscar.

It's easy to forget that this is such a strong character piece when it's so busy being a seemingly light-on-its-feet cat-and-mouse game, but if you revisit it, you'll quickly remember just how unexpectedly deep it really is.
