Every Steven Spielberg Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
27. The Terminal (2004)
The Terminal is such minor Spielberg it's easy to forget he even directed it. One of his most subdued and unmemorable efforts to date, this dramedy about an Eastern European man who ends up stuck in JFK Airport after a coup is staged in his native country features Tom Hanks as its sole bright spot - and even he's hardly stellar - in this totally unremarkable outing.
With such a peculiar premise - and one inspired by real events - this could've been an utter delight, but without any political or interpersonal insight to speak of, its 128 minute runtime ends up feeling like a bit of a chore.
It has its chuckles and is inoffensive enough, but also serves as a monument to squandered potential.
