Every Movie Trailer From Super Bowl 50 Ranked From Worst To Best

13. Gods Of Egypt

You know a film's working against it when its Game Day Spot hits a whole day before the game. And, even more embarrassing for Gods Of Egypt, said trailer has only managed to accrue just over 200,000 views despite the head start. Not having learnt from the fallout of Exodus: Gods And Kings' whitewashing (and explaining it away because it's pre-history fantasy or something), the film has looked like an utter mess for some time, and this extended (because seeing more will make people want to see it?) peek doesn't do much to change that. The CGI looks overblown (especially in the shots of Gerard Butler greenscreened into massive landscapes), the acting wooden as hell (I get Nikolaj Coster-Waldau needs things to do between doing nothing in Dorne, but is this his best offer? The guy was in Headhunters) and the trailer itself is just a sequence of unrelated scenes edited together to form a vague narrative. It's not clear what's going on at all, although I'm not sure even the filmmakers know. Bad trailer for a movie that looks just as bad? Yay, Super Bowl! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S37sBYwlULs
