Every Movie Trailer From Super Bowl 50 Ranked From Worst To Best
8. Jason Bourne
Wait, Bourne 5 is simply called Jason Bourne? Not The Bourne Betrayal? Not The Bourne Return? Not ReBourne? It'd be like titling Bond 25 James Bond or renaming the century-awaited adaptation of The Princess Of Mars John Carter. Oh... Ignoring the stupid title reveal and thoughtless decision for the first look at the (slightly) anticipated franchise return being a 30 second Super Bowl TV spot, this teaser is a bit of an odd one. If you didn't know there was another Bourne movie coming then perhaps it'd be effective, but otherwise it gives you rather little. For starters, the film appears to bringing back the worst element of the original run - Jason Bourne's ability to suddenly remember more of his past when it's convenient to the plot - but where it falls down is the presentation of the action; the fight scenes seem to lack the kineticism of what came before and, in the most bizarre moment, we witness what appears to be a highly CGI-augmented car chase, which seems to go against the ethos and aesthetic of the originals. Still, it's great to hear Moby's Extreme Ways again, which alone reminds that this is a Greengrass/Damon joint and that alone has potential. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gBnmKOixDM
