Every Superhero Movie This Decade Ranked - Worst To Best

41. Kick-Ass 2 (2013)

A ludicrously sloppy follow-up to the beloved 2010 original, Kick-Ass 2 is a rare superhero sequel that actually feels smaller and less epic than its predecessor, in large part due to Jeff Wadlow's middling, visually unimaginative direction and overly juvenile script.

Chloƫ Moretz and Jim Carrey give fun enough performances, but a good deal of the humour crosses the line into childish shock value rather than provocative envelope-pushing.

Most of the new characters barely make a dent, the action is totally mediocre due to Wadlow's restless filmmaking, and it was bad enough to effectively make both fans and the movie's stars lose any interest in a threequel.
