Every Superhero Movie This Decade Ranked - Worst To Best
34. Thor (2011)
At the time of its release, Thor was an incredibly tricky proposition to audiences, but one that paid off thanks to director Kenneth Branagh's unique engagement with the material, both taking the Shakespearean overtones seriously but also being unafraid to make light of them when necessary.
Plot-wise it's incredibly lightweight and the Thor-Jane romance should've been left on the cutting room floor, but the fish-out-of-water comedy is surprisingly hilarious, and the familial interplay between brother, son and father is a lot of fun (largely thanks to Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins).
Not a great superhero movie, but a solid way to introduce Thor to audiences, with some of the MCU's most imaginative visuals up to that point.
