13. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Taika Waititi brought his unique brand of eccentric humour to the MCU with this dizzyingly entertaining romp, which wiped the floor with both prior Thor movies and finally elevated the character to a top-tier spot within the Avengers.

From the colourful visuals to the focus on outrageous sight gags, wonderful new characters (especially Korg [Waititi himself] and Valkyrie [Tessa Thompson]), the buddy dynamic with The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and everything in-between, it's one of the MCU's most purely entertaining movies to date.

It may not do much for the big picture of the franchise and Cate Blanchett's villain Hela is a touch underwhelming, but it's loaded with laugh-out-loud gags and the set-pieces are thrilling.
