Look, the second Nicolas Cage-starring Ghost Rider movie is in no way a good film, but it does deserve some measure of credit for Crank directors Neveldine/Taylor bringing some manic, mental energy to the table and making smart use of their $57 million budget.

The plot, revolving around the Devil's attempt (CiarĂ¡n Hinds) to locate his son and wreak hell on Earth, is total nonsense, but at least it's snappy paced, boasts some genuinely sharp visuals - the car chase is a blast - and Cage brings his usual demented insanity to proceedings.

Nary a scrap of narrative logic can be found, but it's decidedly more fun and weird than the oddly dull first film, that's for sure.
